General Manager

General managers are responsible for training, developing and leading their staff to ensure optimal product knowledge and the highest level of guest service. You will oversee all aspects of store operations with an emphasis on meeting/exceeding budgeted sales, expense, and profit goals.

Associate Manager

Associate managers work very closely with our store associates. You will focus on training, developing, and leading the staff to deliver a high quality guest experience.

Prestige Manager

Prestige managers are the leaders of the prestige cosmetics and skin care area. You will be responsible for making sure your team is educating guests on prestige cosmetics and skin care products. Additionally, you will work closely with our beauty and skin care vendors.

Prestige Consultant

Prestige consultants maximize sales by working with our guests to help them select and purchase the most appropriate merchandise for their needs. You will perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations for our guests.

Cashier

Cashiers maximize sales, while serving our guests at the cash wrap. Our cashiers inform our guests of current promotions, events, and services within the store and handle sales, refunds, and exchanges.

Stock Associate

Stock associates have multiple responsibilities, including stocking shelves and tracking product inventories to help keep our stores running smoothly.

Salon Manager

Salon managers oversee all aspects of THE SALON™ operations and associate development, with an emphasis on meeting/exceeding our sales goals. You will demonstrate your creative leadership during salon promotions and demonstrations.

Salon Market Trainer

Salon market trainers serve as the salon manager for their assigned store. They focus on increasing market-wide profitability by providing business and technical training in color, cut, and style throughout their district.

Designers (Hair Stylists)

Designers consult with guests at THE SALON™ to deliver professional hair care services to make their guests look and feel great themselves. You're passionate about delivering trendsetting styles and building a fabulous following of happy, loyal guests.

Arch Expert

Skin Therapists (Estheticians)

Guest service coordinators assist guests and promote THE SALON™ by managing our guest appointments, and assisting with the services performed in THE SALON™.

Creative Services

Supply Chain and Distribution

We drive for excellence in service, safety, and quality performance improvements as we are evolving our supply chain business to meet the demands of a fast-growing retail business.

Growth & New Store Development

The growth & new store development team identifies new store locations, coordinates remodeling activities, and oversees the design and construction of all ULTA Beauty stores in the United States. Opportunities may include market analysis, real estate and construction.

Finance & Accounting

The finance & accounting team is integral to ensuring the company's fiscal health and financial growth. Career areas include payroll, tax, inventory control, auditing, and financial planning.

Thousands of products make their way to our stores and e-commerce customers from our distribution operations. We currently have three 300,000+ square foot centers in Romeoville, IL; Phoenix, AZ and Chambersburg, PA. We continue to make investments in supply chain, facilities and technology.

Managers & Supervisors- DC

Managers and Supervisors oversee all activities ensuring that work is scheduled and accomplished in an accurate and timely manner for optimal productivity. You will use your strong leadership skills to champion a team-based environment where your employees receive proper training, performance management and motivational support. Managers and Supervisors are empowered with best practices to identify opportunities in developing improved methods and procedures.

Materials Handlers

Materials Handlers receive incoming merchandise, pick and pack daily orders, restock pick slots and ensure that all shipment or audit activities are completed in a timely manner. These positions include operating forklifts, reach trucks, order selectors, and powered pallet jacks

    I have been working at Ulta Beauty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good company values, decent work life balance, over time is frowned upon, great salon discount, company seems to value employees opinions through culture surveys annually and we saw change at a field level, good brand training, good opportunity for advancement

    Cons

    Pay is low for responsibilities expected to fulfill, time is not given to recruit or network outside their 4 walls, you must come from a strong leadership background as there is not really a structured leadership outline or program on the retail side of the business. Sense of urgency around filling management positions lacking from DM and higher.

    Advice to Management

    If your initiatives include staffing and scheduling, give us the time to recruit and network outside of the customers that walk in. Leaving management positions open for months and months is unacceptable. Continue to listen to your field staff through the culture surveys. We appreciate that you're listening and making changes. Spend the payroll so we can make money and protect our inventory. And last but most important, create a leadership program that teaches your "green" managers how to be better leaders so they can better inspire their employees.
