Mission: To Make All Athletes Better Through Passion, Design, And The Relentless Pursuit Of Innovation
It started with a simple plan to make a superior T-shirt. A shirt that provided compression and wicked perspiration off your skin rather than absorb it. A shirt that worked with your body to regulate temperature and enhance performance.
Founded in 1996 by former University of Maryland football player Kevin Plank, Under Armour is the originator of performance apparel - gear engineered to keep athletes cool, dry and light throughout the course of a game, practice or workout. The technology behind Under Armour's diverse product assortment for men, women and youth is complex, but the program for reaping the benefits is simple: wear HeatGear® when it's hot, ColdGear® when it's cold, and AllSeasonGear® between the extremes.
Under Armour’s mission is to make all athletes better through passion, design and the relentless pursuit of innovation.
This is where energy and passion live. Where an obsession with being better, doing more, and creating bigger comes standard. Where the next great thing is already being produced, and where we hunt for what comes after. Working here means challenging the status quo, never being satisfied, and demanding the best from yourself and your team.
Grit, innovation, and "Yes, I can do this” collide here every day. The results are spectacular. They empower people all over the world. And it all comes from the same place: our teammates and their commitment to never saying "I can’t," but instead always saying "I Will."
This is our mission statement:
We make all athletes better through passion, design, and the relentless pursuit of innovation.
But how we do that is the real Under Armour difference. Across the globe, we empower each other and our customers with our spirit and drive. We push every field forward by making good into better. It takes people at the top of their game, and those looking to reach it, to help us. And no matter where we are, we all work together. This is what truly drives us: our will.
Working with us means honoring this pledge:
I Will – Act like a global citizen.
Cross time zones and encourage the diverse multicultural energy and global ambition of our brand. Regardless of where you work or how much you travel, take action with an international mindset and a passion for bringing our message to all athletes everywhere.
I Will – Think like an entrepreneur.
You’re an OWNER of this Brand. Be accountable. We’re the underdog whose successes and failures rest fully on our own shoulders and are not separated by organizational charts or office locations. Nothing’s done until it’s DONE, DONE, DONE. And always, always, always be humble and stay hungry.
I Will – Create like an innovator.
Taking risks and failing is a part of striving for greatness and will truly lead us to making our defining product one day. But at every level and across every business, be ready to adjust and drive change, while maintaining the core attributes that define our brand’s culture.
I Will – Perform like a teammate.
UA is special…which means it’s not for everyone. The fast pace of the brand demands our respect, integrity, and transparency. And our ambitious goals require that we empower, support, challenge, and inspire our teammates to be great.
When you work with us, you’re part of a high-performance team. And we take care of our teammates by providing a comprehensive total compensation package that links directly to business and individual results. We also provide robust and affordable benefit programs to protect the health and well-being of teammates and their families while contributing to their financial security. So we make sure everyone has support they can rely on both at work and in life. Because when it comes to making sure our teammates are covered, We Will.
A strong part of our commitment to teammates is our UAWell program. Through focused challenges, videos, and more, we help teammates focus on and improve their overall health. Plus, with rewards focused on wellness, we keep teammates motivated and excited about their health.

Bold. Hungry. Thoughtful. Ready to learn. Innovative. Motivated. Human. Who we look for has nothing to do with how you look, and everything to do with your spirit. At Under Armour, we see it as not just beneficial but necessary to have an inclusive culture. Because differences in our backgrounds, lives, experiences, skill levels, and more only make our team stronger.
Growing our environment of diversity, inclusion and mutual respect for all teammates comes to life through our corporate Culture Clubs. Accessible to all teammates around the globe, each of our Clubs focuses on supporting the many unique groups within Under Armour. Below is an overview of some of the Culture Clubs, but our list is always growing.
I worked at Under Armour part-time (More than a year)
Employees received a substantial discount compared to what employees receive at other stores. All of my coworkers and managers were encouraging and enjoyable to work with.
When we were slow it would be hard to find things to do. Also on the weekends it was constantly busy, and no matter how many people were working we'd always seem behind. The store would become a mess and it was annoying to constantly fold shirts, especially the ones that are required to fold with paper.
Advice to Management
Discover an app that will help employees view their schedule, the online portal was not the best option I've seen.
I had a first round phone interview with the recruiter. He was over 30 minutes late in calling me. I thought it was extremely unprofessional. I was supposed to hear back a week later, but he never got back to me. I sent a follow up email, but he did not respond. Overall, I'm not impressed by Under Armour's recruiting process. Most companies typically have the decency to let you know that they're not moving on and their recruiters respond to emails inquiring into the status of candidacy.
