I have been working at United Rentals full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This company allows the cream to rise to the top - we support, recognize, encourage, and challenge our teammates from every level. We are empowered to work safely, grow the business, and form long term relationships with inside clients and outside clients.

    Cons

Working from a platform of a huge corporation can be challenging. Decisions are made from high levels which affect everyone in the company, sometimes negatively, and there is little to no communication regarding the "whys" before those decisions are handed down. On the upside, we are given the opportunity quarterly to question these decisions and receive a response from corporate. Rental is a face paced industry constantly changing, this company grows with those trends and moves accordingly.

    Advice to Management

When big decisions are made as to how we are going to do business, ie. collection from outside the U.S. - provide information, training, and suggestions for incorporation into our daily routines for employees so we are not blindsided by the fallout of those decisions.

    Interview

Interviewed by Sr. Management 3 times. Took appox. a month to start. Very informal interviews. Management basically just checking the box. They use a personality test to take the guess work out.
