I worked at Universal Resources as a contractor (More than a year)
Enjoyed the customer company. Definitely had an impact and made a difference. They let me operate with minimal supervision.
Overtime was limited. Not that we were looking to rack up big OT bucks but the job really required some time over and above 40. Required Customer approval first, though, and they didn't want to give it. The problem with being a contractor instead of a regular employee.
Advice to Management
The only downside was when I applied to become the regular Supervisor over my function (a role I was unofficially filling anyway). Didn't get it (disappointed but not upset) and then the customer didn't bother to tell me. Found out when the Supervisor showed up. Even though I was a contractor, show me the respect of telling me that I was not selected.
