I have been working at University of Houston Downtown part-time (More than 3 years)
They have treated me much more professionally and respectfully than many of the other schools I've worked for as an adjunct.
Difficult to advance without a PhD, but that's typical. I have also gotten some politically charged emails (all liberal in nature) from staff members that I did not care for or think appropriate.
Advice to Management
Politically charged or slanted emails about your politics are not appropriate--even if it affects profits for the school.
I applied online. I interviewed at University of Houston Downtown.
You have to apply online through the school job portal, provide 2 PDF references from either former professors or a work colleague. I had to do a mock tutoring sessions with 2 different people. I was the typical interview questions for a an entry level position. I highlighted what I have achieved academically and discussed where there was room for improvement. I was candid and did not fluff if I did not know the answer.
