I have been working at University of Mississippi Medical Center full-time (More than a year)
UMMC has a great learning environment; there's always something to learn and someone to teach. Students, residents, and practitioners of all disciplines of medicine are abounding. There is a high volume of high acuity patients.
Just as in most places in healthcare, staffing is usually tight; particularly on nights and weekends when management isn't around.
Advice to Management
Listen more carefully to your front line when making decisions for day to day patient care.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Went around and talked to the different professors about my interests and their research. About 10 minutes per faculty member, get to have lunch with the grad students. Not bad or overly stressful. If you got to the interview part there's not a lot to worry about. Be frank with your desire to attend.
