Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, VML joined the world’s largest communications services group, WPP, in 2001. VML has more than 2,400 employees with principal offices in 26 locations across six continents.

In fact, nearly every VMLer actively participates in the VML Foundation — our very own nonprofit — enabling us to help direct where our contributions go. We volunteer at dozens of charities, contribute to cause-related pro bono projects and make financial contributions to worthy organizations through individual matching gifts and VML Foundation grants.

Commitment to Giving Back.

Giving back has been fundamental to VML since our earliest days. VMLers consistently roll up their sleeves and contribute time, talents and treasure to nonprofit organizations and worthy causes in more than 25 communities where VML operates around the globe. 

VML Worldwide Foundation Day

Giving back has always been part of the VML’s DNA. From the beginning, VMLers have consistently rolled up their sleeves and donated time, talent and treasure to help improve the communities where we live, work and raise our families. 

At VML, community outreach is administered by the VML Foundation, an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Foundation is an employee-led organization, spearheading a wide array of volunteer opportunities, pro bono projects and financial contributions.

Nearly 75 percent of VMLers make ongoing financial contributions through payroll deduction. VML Foundation members receive a matching gift benefit of up to $200 annually. This enables VMLers to double their contributions to any 501(c)(3) organization. The VML Foundation grant program enables members to extend financial support to causes they’re passionate about.

VML is privileged to support a variety of nonprofits with pro bono services every year. We partner with organizations that are near and dear to VMLers and their families; the type of projects includes website redesigns, social media initiatives and creative campaigns. To request pro bono support from VML, please send an email with a short explanation of desired support to ProBonoRequest@vml.com.

Financial Support

The VML Foundation, an employee-funded and employee-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, enables VMLers to contribute funds through payroll deduction that are shared with other nonprofits in our communities. The vast majority of U.S.-based VMLers actively participate in the VML Foundation, and they receive an annual Matching Gifts benefit of up to $200. VML Foundation members can also submit Grant Requests to activate unrestricted financial contributions to local nonprofits they’re passionate about.

In every VML office around the globe, VMLers volunteer time and talent to support nonprofit organizations by serving in a variety of leadership roles. The agency encourages VMLers to contribute energy and expertise to community partners and we celebrate their commitment. These partnerships foster unique and meaningful relationships for VML, and the agency is pleased to support this level of dedication with volunteer support, pro bono services and/or financial contributions.

    I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at VML (Kansas City, MO) in June 2017.

    Was long but fun. The interviewers were friendly and asked relevant questions. I appreciated that the interviewers were both developers so they knew what they were asking. I was ready for a white-boarding session but I was not asked to do live coding in front of them.
