Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center, a 293-bed acute care facility located in southeast Las Vegas, has been providing high quality healthcare to residents of Southern Nevada since 1971. The Desert Springs Hospital campus covers more than 451,000 square feet.

The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services, and has a designated area in the emergency department to treat patients with less serious injuries and illnesses. The hospital has long been referred to as "The Heart Hospital" by long-time residents, due to its solid reputation as a leader in cardiac care. The hospital is nationally recognized for its diabetes, cardiac, stroke and bariatric surgery programs.

Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, located in southwest Las Vegas, Nevada, is a 237-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Las Vegas and surrounding region. When it opened in October 2003, Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center was the first acute care hospital in southwest Las Vegas. Since then, the hospital has grown by continuously adding medical services to better meet the needs of the surrounding community. Today, our 237-bed hospital features all private rooms and a comprehensive range of medical services.

Valley Hospital Medical Center, located in the heart of Las Vegas, is a tertiary-care and teaching hospital that offers a comprehensive range of services, including advanced cardiovascular, neurological and surgical services to Southern Nevada residents and visitors. Valley Hospital has also achieved nationally-recognized designation as a primary stroke center and an accredited chest pain center.

Since 1972, the healthcare professionals of Valley Hospital Medical Center pride themselves on providing excellent patient care to all who enter our doors. As a teaching hospital, we focus on the use of evidence-based medicine and the importance of following clinical pathways that research has shown to be effective with most patients.

The eight-story Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center opened in January 2008, and provides a wide range of medical services and procedures. Centennial Hills Hospital has taken a progressive approach to health promotion by becoming the first tobacco-free campus in Nevada.

Centennial Hills Hospital also brings comprehensive women's services to Northwest Las Vegas. In addition to providing digital mammography, gynecologic care and gynecologic surgery, the Women's Center is paying special attention to new moms. During their stay, moms will enjoy special menus, massages, and afternoon teas. The Women's Center maternity services include labor, delivery and recovery rooms, antepartum and post-partum care, a newborn nursery and a Level III NICU.

Summerlin, in Las Vegas, is one of America's fastest-growing communities and Summerlin Hospital Medical Center is keeping up with its neighbors. Over the past few years, the hospital has expanded its pediatric care services to add a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), advanced cardiac and surgical procedures, including open heart, and robotic surgery services.

Summerlin Hospital recently completed the largest expansion project in its history. The expansion included the addition of a six-story tower that contains 173 additional private patient rooms, an expanded emergency room and pediatric emergency room. The hospital also features adjoining outpatient services and physician offices.

New Henderson Hospital Coming Soon

In the fall of 2016, The Valley Health System will be adding a sixth facility to serve the Las Vegas area, the new Henderson Hospital. Our architects and user groups have recently completed the program and rendering, shown above. User groups have been the primary drivers of our Henderson Hospital project. Their expertise has been instrumental in the development of efficient throughput and best practices. These direct caregivers, physicians, community members, and managers have provided their time and energy, lots of it, to help the architects develop our 142-bed facility.

Two hundred and forty–five thousand square feet of patient-centric culture will come to life in the fall of 2016. Henderson Hospital will cover 30 acres and anchor Union Village, the first planned health care village of its type in the United States.

Our Services

Henderson Hospital will be a general acute hospital, complementing The Valley Health System’s other five hospitals. One of the featured service lines, Women’s Services, will be located on the fourth floor with dramatic views of the valley. The unit will include labor and delivery rooms, C-section suites, a newborn nursery, a maternal triage area, and post-partum rooms.

The Emergency Department will provide only board-certified emergency physicians to care for patients, and will be easily identifiable from the highway. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals have been quite involved in our planning, including the helipad. Ample parking and convenient drop-off locations will be available for patients and visitors.

Other services are to include general surgery, imaging and laboratory services, medical and pre- and post-surgery care, full-service intensive and intermediate care along with telemetry.

Special Features

Our goal is to provide special care during this vulnerable time of the patient’s life. Patients will have planned quiet times during the day and food service available when the patient is hungry. Employees will be empowered to provide best practices and to accommodate the patient’s special needs.

A healing and wellness garden is planned near the northwest corner of the hospital, between the hospital building and the Union Village promenade. The plant species proposed are those that will help add elements such as texture, scent and color. Some species have been included for their lush evergreen appearance to help provide a more dense appearance in the landscape planters as well as to provide a superior cooling effect.

A butterfly garden is also planned for the southwest corner of the hospital, south of the Emergency Department main entrance. Plant species that attract butterflies are being proposed to the City of Henderson.

Thank You

A special thank you to our Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) team that is working closely with local and state agencies to provide a hospital that addresses 21st century medicine.

This was one of my favorite jobs. I stayed for 4 years. The leadership was great and my coworkers were the best! I truly felt that this compnsy really tried to give credit to those emp!oyees who stood out and really excelled at their jobs. Management was friendly and fair. The different disciplines worked well together. I enjoyed seeing my patients make gains and get released to safely return to home. I thoroughly enjoyed this job and remember it fondly.

I did not like the hospital setting, in which you are inundated by so many contagions, which is why I eventually moved on. Also, I find it much more rewarding to work with my patients for longer periods of time, and really get to make a deeper personal connection .
