I have been working at Van Diest Supply full-time (More than a year)
Hourly pay is good, that's about it.
There are 5 levels of pay. You start at 1 and with experience and time you slowly move to level 5. Although, with every mistake, levels are taken away if you aren't fired. When there is a mistake they try to roll as many people into the problem as possible (supervisors and regular employees).
This leads to a corporate culture of employees doing as little work as possible so they don't have any liability to anything should it go wrong.
1200 people either quit, were fired, or left for another job. They only employ 700 people. If anything goes wrong, mechanical or otherwise, people are generally fired. They say they never lay people off, that's because they do a round of firing during the slow season
Advice to Management
Quit firing people.
