I worked at Vaughn Next Century Learning Center full-time (More than 3 years)
Pay in the first few years is above average; kids are okay as far as behavior goes, nice faculty for the most part.
Horrible politics with administration, really, really unintelligent people in leadership positions, and the intelligent ones are morally challenged. Constant changes in curriculum and the daily structure without vetting the practices first. Crazy turn-over rate. I was a veteran after just a few years.
Advice to Management
Quit and let someone else run the place.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at Vaughn Next Century Learning Center (San Fernando, CA) in February 2010.
I heard from a friend that this school had some teaching job openings so I filled out initial app. dHR & admin reviewed the app/resume. I then got a call for a group interview that consisted of about 7-8 teachers/staff members asking questions about my teaching philosophy and ideas. The next day I was called to come in to teach a sample lesson.
Reasons for Declining
I found another job closer to home.
