We have a lot of violence and aggression on our wards and unfortunately I have experienced it too with verbal abuse and aggitated behaviour from patients. Just wondering if anyone else has experience of this and how you manage this so it doesn't affect you outside of work? I find myself getting anxious around loud noises. We are a mental health ward and part of the behaviour is due to their presentation

I've noticed that the administrative staff in my department, and maybe even in general, is about 90% female. Anyone else see this in healthcare?
