    Pros

I worked at Version 1 for almost 10 years and loved every minute of it.

Everyone I worked with or met in Version 1 was brilliant. The people make the place. But also, I’m a great believer and promoter of the companies core values. They are not just lip service...they are lived by. They ensure a great attitude within the workforce.

I also loved working directly with customers and being given pretty much free reign to push the boundaries of technology.

Growth is very much on the cards for Version 1 and it will continue to be a great place to work.

You might wonder why I left if I had such great things to say about the company but I left to pursue something I had to do.

    Cons

Career Progression is readily available but some line management guidance to push or mentor the individual would be welcomed. This would help provide the employees with a clear view of how to progress to the dizzy heights that are available.

    Advice to Management

Ensure development community have tools more powerful than needed to complete their jobs.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Version 1.

    Interview

Received an email to do online test. It was difficult with many quick questions. It contained many questions and the speed of answering was even more important than accuracy. I was told that I passed and will contact me when there is an interview to be scheduled.

  • After 20 years as our CEO, Justin will move up to the Version 1 Board and Tom O'Connor will become our new CEO at the start of April. Have a read of Justin's personal note behind the "career change" and what the future holds for Version 1:

    Career change for a CEO

Published on They say that all political careers end in failure. Most football manager careers certainly do. Very many CEO careers likewise. The saying "Quit while you're ahead" is oft repeated, but seldom followed. The lure of one more election, one more season, one more acquisition, is just too strong.
