From that keystone foundation, we enjoy working on productive teams and thrive on having a friendly and fun work environment. It’s one of the reasons we were named a Top Workplace in Philadelphia for the past three years. Ask anyone who finished their first day here why they like it, and what they’ll probably say is “everyone is so friendly!”

Ours is a unique workplace centered around the belief that if people are treated with respect, can choose meaningful work they enjoy, and have fun while doing it, we will all succeed. Over 40 years of continuous growth seems to support that belief!

  • was created in 2000 to address the need for accessible, understandable and compassionate information about breast cancer diagnosis and treatment issues.
  • The American Heart Association: This organization is the oldest, largest voluntary organization devoted to fighting cardiovascular disease.
  • Big Brothers/Big Sisters: Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through  18, in communities across the globe to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

I have been working at Vertex (Pennsylvania) full-time (More than a year)

Privately owned, by a family that genuinely cares about its employees
Great benefits, especially in this day and age
Hard work, but very rewarding to high performers

Difficulty at times getting adequate IT support
Definitely has an issue with silos
Job titles make no sense and really need to be revised, they cause tremendous confusion and make recruiting more difficult than it should be

    Advice to Management

Empower employees to do their jobs, get out of their way and let them do what they know is best for the company
The Winning Way stuff is getting old fast, you risk losing people's attention by constantly harping on it
