I have been working at Vesuvius full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent safety performance. Good benefits and advancement opportunities.

    Cons

Heavily tied to steel industry which has seen significant downturn in US markets. Internal competition with manufacturing sites in low labor cost countries makes it very difficult to keep sites in the US operating.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Vesuvius (Champaign, IL) in March 2016.

    Interview

I met a recruiter at the career fair. He looked at my resume and we chatted. Later that week, I was invited in for an interview. It was a panel of employees interviewing me. Some were very kind, others maybe not so much. The interview was simple. The questions weren't very difficult, and I wasn't ever surprised or put on the spot to answer something challenging.
