I worked at Virginia Commonwealth University full-time

    Pros

Great work-life balance, really care about their employees, lots of opportunities for advancement. Overall this is a great place to work if your starting out. Also, the benefits are amazing because you're a state employee.

    Cons

Pay is low, and some of the office spaces are in desperate need of repair. My office in particular had some problems which they tried to address but just couldn't figure out, but in their defense they kept trying.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing whatever it is your doing. You have some great employees and obviously know how to keep them around.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond, VA) in December 2016.

    Interview

Requested to do a Skype interview. Interviewed right before the holidays. Still waiting to hear a response. I have sent follow up emails and thank you notes. In theory, I am still waiting to hear response, although it is public knowledge that other candidates have moved forward. The lack of response seems disrespectful and unprofessional, especially at a university.
