I have been working at Virginia International University full-time (Less than a year)
Great support from direct supervisor
Recreational activities for employess and students
Diversity of cultures
Human resources department has some bad elements that shares confidential information
Lack of impartiality
High pressure on goals without giving proper resources
Advice to Management
High management should learn the process of each department for accurate audits and performance evaluation.
Evaluate the external and internal aspects that affects productivity in order to set accurate and reacheable goals
Be carefull of some members of high management that are not looking for the institutions development.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Virginia International University (Fairfax, VA) in April 2016.
Overall simply straight forward process. First I had a phone interview, then another one with VP in person. Questions asked were a little bit unprofessional. The interview began with traditional interview questions and some behavioral questions, but shifted to a kind of weird questions in the end. I thought that was because the VP was not professional recruiter or lacked experience of hiring people. Otherwise, everything went smoothly. Staffs were nice and friendly.
