Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    Pros

Visiting Media prioritizes wellness by offering mindfulness sessions and fun after work activities. I also love having the opportunity to work fully remotely! The CEO has incredibly receptive to new ideas; he helped me start a sustainability club at the company. Management team is all really kind and supportive. Within less than 6 months of working here, I was offered opportunities to grow into a higher paying position. Great experience so far and would recommend the company if you're looking for a great company to work remote for.

    Cons

Like all rapidly growing companies, changes in structure, role, how your duty is performed, procedures, etc can change quickly. Being able to manage ambiguity and being able to work independently is critical to success, and learning tech skills depending on the industry you're from/role you apply for. You won't have a manager "looking over your shoulder," so you need to be good at holding yourself accountable for your work which can be hard for folks who haven't worked remote before.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Visiting Media (United States) in May 2023

      Interview

The interview process was fine. I was moved on to the second round. After completing the second round, I never heard back. I emailed the recruiter, but no response. I emailed the interviewer I had with in round 2, no answer. Completely ghosted. It has been about a month.
