I worked at Vistage Marketing full-time (Less than a year)
In an economy where nobody is hiring people without 2-3+ years experience, even for entry-level positions, it is awesome that a company will actually give someone a chance to prove themselves like Vistage Marketing Inc does!!! Their goals align with those of their employee s and the success rate of their management running successful campaigns for their clients can only be attributed to their extensive training program. I would recommend this company to use for revenue generation to prospective clients as well as for employment for job seekers looking for opportunity.
The sales and marketing is easy with practice, but a fundamental goal of theirs is training people to be strong leaders. Unfortunately, not everyone is capable of being an effective leader when it comes to managing different personalities or training different personalities. Even though they train people to be effective in sales and marketing, that is not their major goal. Their major goals are training strong leaders. Strong leadership skills are not something easily learned, but with the right attitude and motivation can be obtained. It is a bit different being a leader in sales, training, and recruiting than it is being in sports.
Advice to Management
Talk to local colleges and universities about the possibility of students being able to utilize the training program to help students get "real world" experience in both direct marketing as well as leadership associated with managing a business.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Vistage Marketing (Latham, NY) in April 2012.
The most energetic and positive recruiting manager that I have ever spoken to! Their interview process is very thorough and actually gives you a chance to speak for yourself instead of having a single page resume represent you entirely. They allow a person interested in working for their company to pick the brains of their employee's on everything they have learned so far in their company and what opportunities being in the company has brought them.
They are selective to who they hire, if they have multiple candidates and they are deciding who they are going to give the job offer to, the person who can start ASAP will more likely get the job than the person needing to "tie up loose ends."
