    Positive Outlook

I worked at WYSS Institute (Less than a year)

    Pros

Ground - breaking research being conducted. Many fields in biology and engineering being explored. Good pay for research interns. Great supervisors. Always professor/research talks and weekly social hours.

    Cons

Expect longer than normal hours, depending on your supervisor. Potentially may have to work on weekends, depending on state of research.

    Advice to Management

Continue to inspire faculty members to achieve great things. Inspire employees to create a better work-life balance.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at WYSS Institute (Cambridge, MA) in September 2014.

    Interview

Unprofessional interview process. Kept preaching about a great work/life balance but demonstrated otherwise through their actions. Candidates that make it through three rounds of interviews and provide two follow-ups deserve more closure than silence.

In this day and age, it is inconsiderate to blow off candidates that you need to provide bad news to. It takes thirty seconds to provide feedback. No job or position in any industry is so high-profile that it accommodates for being disrespectful of others time. Respecting others isn't about whether or not you have the time, it is about making the time. I am glad I was able to get a glimpse of their overall lack communication in the office, I would not appreciate or tolerate being treated like this as an employee.

    Interview Questions

    • Not the most brilliant or insightful questions, really just asked questions that people are going to fluff up anyways- 'what is your biggest weakness?' Come on, who is actually going to be honest about this? Totally outdated.   Answer Question
