I worked at Washington Department of Corrections full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You work with others and get a chance to advance yourself. It's an everyday effort to make the best possible teams able to develop high quality products.

    Cons

Well, the work happens to be in Washington State prisons. Security is tight. And it can be interesting at times because you have to work with the Security. If they lock the units down, there is no one to do the jobs. So, you have to be able to adjust.

    Advice to Management

Really need to raise the level of pay and frequency of vacations. You must get out, and get away from the stress of day to day prison life. Also, do not hang on till your 95 years old, retire while you can still see and enjoy life!

    Interview

The hiring process from start to finish is very quick. Interview process was very easy. The interview process was done with two non uniformed employees. The interview itself was not stressful whatsoever, just make sure to match how your past experience can relate to the job itself.
