Waypoint Homes – Why Work For Us?

Our mission is to be the premier provider of single family rental homes in America.

For our residents, we aim to provide a great home with an easy, rewarding rental experience that provides stability and peace of mind.

For our team, we are committed to creating an entrepreneurial environment that provides the opportunity to learn, collaborate, take ownership, and make an impact.

For our investors, we leverage our best-in-class team and systems as we strive to deliver superior returns.

For the communities where we work, we look to own nicely renovated homes while sponsoring meaningful projects that enhance neighborhoods, promote volunteerism, and make all of our stakeholders proud to be associated with the company.

Our Culture
What it means to be a Waypoint Champion

When you think of a champion, it’s usually someone who has surpassed others in a competition—the ultimate winner, the gold medalist. But a champion is also someone who supports or advocates on behalf of others. Someone who believes in a cause and stands up for it. That’s what it’s like to work at Waypoint Homes. It’s a place where the heart of a determined competitor and the desire to impact our world make us champions in all we do.

Waypoint Homes strives to make a positive impact on society and the environment. We believe that when our neighborhoods thrive, that we do, too.

To encourage our employees to support the community, each Waypoint employee receives 20 hours a year of paid time off for volunteerism. We encourage our employees to spend this time using their unique skills to support the neighborhoods in which we work. We are proud of the generosity and passion with which our team members advance a number of good causes.

To date, Waypoint team members have:

  • Volunteered and donated to local food banks
  • Fundraised to cure breast cancer and draw awareness
  • Participated in municipal appreciate events (fire, police, schools)
  • Helped start neighborhood watches
  • Spearheaded neighborhood and park cleanups and themes
  • Held events to support pets
  • Launched massive blood drives
  • Led financial education seminars for at risk youth
  • Done construction projects to help nonprofits better serve their constituents

I worked at Waypoint Homes full-time

Environment was laid back. Snacks and beverages were provided for staff.

Dealing with eviction processes, unruly residents was difficult. A hostile environment at times.

    Advice to Management

More meetings with internal staff to achieve more thorough communication.

I applied online. I interviewed at Waypoint Homes.

Applied on the company website and two weeks later received a call from HR to schedule an interview with the hiring manager. As an out-of-state candidate, the 20 minute interview consisted of me answering a question about being able to facilitate a move if I was hired, and, other than "walk me through your resume", I can't recall any other specific questions about my experience or fit. The interviewer sounded nervous and distracted, and it was hard to get any sort of conversation going. I asked a few questions about the culture but that was answered in a round about way, with the manager saying he "liked always being busy". Nothing about the work environment and management. Overall, it was a poor experience due to an awkward and unprepared interviewer.
