employees are rewarded solely based on their own merit. When they make sales they are compensated and when they reach certain goals they are promoted.
The pay is solely commission based. The management is only concerned with making money and has little concern for how their employees are treated. Employees are hired and quit very frequently. The atmosphere is competitive but not in a good way.
Advice to Management
Be honest about how the company works instead of making it seem like something different. People start working and become unhappy with the situation.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Webb Consulting (Pittsburgh, PA) in May 2009.
My advice: Stay away.
Fly by night office supplies outsourcer (for Quill). I shadowed with them for a day (door to door) in the worst parts of Pittsburgh. I went out with their best salesperson (and a rookie salesperson too) and only made one sale. Not exactly inspiring for the prospective "account manager".
Seemed like a very dubious setup of an operation, IMO. All commission based with ancient methods.
Had one intial interview, then a day shadowing with a follow up interview at the end. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Interviews were straight forward.
