At Weber Shandwick, we believe that workplace leadership requires comprehensive and competitive benefits programs in every office around the world. Represented in more than 40 markets, we offer first rate benefits worldwide in addition to programs that address market specific needs. Additionally, we continually review our offerings to ensure market competitiveness.

Our benefits programs are supplemented by local programs that reflect the customs and specific desires of our employees in each office. Some programs stress work-life balance, while others focus on community service. In every case, they are reflective of our rich and diverse employee population around the globe.

Weber Shandwick is a global team of strategists, analysts, producers, designers, developers, campaign activators and brilliant storytellers who know how to make every story an engaging one.

And while it’s true that Weber Shandwick employs lots of smart people and plenty of out-of-the-box thinkers (experts on search, gastronomy and virtual reality included), what really defines us is our collaborative culture – an inclusive environment that encourages the kind of teamwork and open-idea sharing that’s become a hallmark of our firm. I have been working at Weber Shandwick full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company is large so I can't speak to every team, but I have really valued the level of mentorship I have received thus far and the investment my managers have made in me. I feel supported and that leadership cares about members of the team as people and not just as employees.

The agency is ahead of the curve in terms of integrating data into its client work and has made strategic investments in acquiring sophisticated analytics capabilities.

    Cons

Large, publicly traded company with all the classic bureaucracy that entails. A million different employee-facing websites to keep track of for benefits, time entry, booking travel, etc...

    Advice to Management

Though they bring about innovation and collaboration, large cross-team projects often lack clear leadership and accountability. Opportunity to more clearly designate a single team lead to manage areas of responsibility, internal milestones, etc.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Weber Shandwick (Washington, DC).

    Interview

HR called me to do a basic screening of my profile upfront, and with their approval I was contacted to do an in-person interview with two members of the team I was interested in. The team members were friendly.

    Interview Questions

    • They asked about my past experience, how my past work would help me contribute to Weber as an intern, and why I wanted to work for Weber specifically. If you're not coming from a PR background, be prepared to explain why you're trying to enter the industry.   Answer Question
