I worked at Wel Companies full-time (More than 3 years)
Best company ever worked for over 3 years, all new Kenworth, friendly staff, family oriented, treats you like a person face to face by your nick name not your ID number. Easy access in and out of terminal, not like a prison. Do it your way, no picky micro managing or harassing dispatchers. Leaders listen to drivers complaints.
Pay is only .42 with regular raises but worth the convenience. Fuel any where, any time on all truck routes. All reefer, good lanes, no weird broker loads.
They mainly dispatch over Eastern US Region only east of MS, Mo, or TX at the furthest but hiring almost anywhere as they need more drivers. Maybe hard to get hm in some remote areas. Some drivers have complained of low miles but they always do. I never had a problem except they do not go to Western US hardly at all.
Advice to Management
keep up the good work.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Wel Companies (Green Bay, WI) in September 2015.
Recruiter was honest and helpful, but company could not follow through. Ceo and president actually do care, wish their employees cared the way they do! I always give companies at least 6 months, to see what the company is really about. In a matter of 2 weeks they managed to mess up 5 loads sat more than I drove employees yelling at me and the truck breaking down 5 times in 2 weeks, I was done!!!
