Adam Edualino, Senior Admissions Advisor (WCU OC) “Working in Admissions, I am usually the first contact between the school and the students. Being able to represent our school and be the point of contact for students as they are taking their first steps in their WCU journey is always gratifying. But what I love most is helping our students in whatever way possible to ensure their career dreams come true.” “Everyone on our Admissions team is amazing; each of us has our strengths and we all work together and help each other out. When you have a group of talented individuals all on the same page with a common goal of providing the best service to students, you know that no matter who the student is talking to, they are in great hands. Our leadership is amazing and there is always an open line of communication which makes working at WCU so great.”

To celebrate Native American and Indigenous Peoples Month, we are highlighting and honoring some of our amazing alumni and the work they are doing to impact their communities. WCU alumna Paula G. is a member of the Tule River Indian Tribe, a Yokut tribe about 30 minutes into the foothills above Porterville, CA. Growing up, access to medical care was limited, and many residents were hesitant to seek help from healthcare professionals outside of their community; Paula was motivated to bridge that gap and be the representation her tribe needed, leading her to nursing. No issues with the process, and the people were kind. My alert to everyone is to question the salary range provided, as, for the position for which I interviewed, was not "market," and quite low. Not competitive at all. Also, they require an exhaustive reference survey. Five references (two must be former managers). My concern is that they request this information prematurely, well before an offer is extended. This questionnaire is 30 questions plus two essay questions. It's irresponsible to request this information from your references before an offer is even made.InterviewThe interview questions were appropriate and professional.
