    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at West Elm.

    Interview

Met at a stylecareers expo with an HR representative that told me " i don't know why we are here we don't have open merchant positions and we have a freeze on hiring" (this was late winter) any who was very quick interview seemed annoyed and rushing. I then contacted her coworker weeks later and he was much friendlier. He asked me some questions via email I answered then was granted an in person interview. He is definitely worth what they pay him it was the most intense interview I've ever had.He is a bit intimidating definitely a "griller" needless to say I did not make it to a 2nd interview :-(

    Interview Questions

    • Asked me to please provide detail that speaks to my exp with prod dev (not vendor relationship mgt), as this is a crucial component of this role. Be ready to discuss home trends, your point of view of west elm who their customer is and what they want. Why you would be an asset to the team, what can you bring to the table, what are your biggest accomplishments and more importantly why do you want this job...   Answer Question
