Once you learn the system and culture, you can work your job like a small business owner. It is in fact your small business, but better; you have the support of an established corporate giant. And by support I mean, full affordable benefits like low deductible health insurance, life insurance, dental, vision, paid vacation, 401k, pension. Additionally, you have control of your time, which is priceless.
Any time there is a corporate culture and system, there are restraints. I understand that there has to be, however what should be restrained for someone, doesn't mean it should be restrained from someone else. However, because of the nature of corporate business, a system (of restraint in essence) has to be in place.
Advice to Management
Learn the people you're managing. Set expectations and enforce accountability, however do so, or LEARN to do so based on the person being managed. Just like no one sized financial solution fits every situation, no one management style fits every person needing management.
Enjoyed the interview process, very thorough and I could tell that the company is very careful about who they hire. Hiring process was clear and challenging, but well worth it!
