I worked at Westlake Convalescent Hospital full-time (More than a year)
Smaller community hospital. Worked in their only ICU, participated in hospital-wide Raid Response Team and Code Blue calls. Friendly staff for the most part.
Patient population was lower acuity. When ICU was low census, took tele & med/surg overflow patients, upwards if 4-5 patients including ICU patients. Older facility, some outdated equipment, no Pixis at the time I was there. Crash cart & emergency meds not always available, had to wait for pharmacy to mix drips and deliver to unit more than a few times. High RN turnover rate.
