Mission: Create Demand and Earn Trust Every Day
As part of its continued commitment to create an attractive workplace, Whirlpool Corporation today announced that it will open an employer sponsored child care facility to help working Whirlpool Corporation parents in our local community.
Southwest Michigan — more specifically the cities of Benton Harbor and St. Joseph — houses Whirlpool Corporation’s global and North American headquarters, as well as several technical, research and customer service facilities. The area is also the focus of the first episode of the “Places that Matter” photojournalism project launched this fall from the corporate newsroom at Whirlpool Corporation.
For generations, our company has been helping people make the most of time so they can focus on what matters – their families and their lives.
Our company is looking for candidates who are not just interested in a job, but are committed to a higher purpose. We want to engage employees with meaningful work within their individual positions but also provide them with opportunities to make a difference in the lives of consumers all over the world.
We are proud to be the number one major appliance manufacturer in the world. Our company markets Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Consul, Brastemp, Amana, Bauknecht, Jenn-Air, Indesit and other major brand names in nearly every country throughout the world. Find the location that interests you and explore our various positions available within that region.
Whirlpool Corporation maintains our successful perspective by employing and empowering 100,000 unique points of view. On the front lines are leaders who create momentum and competitive advantages so our products excite consumers and employees alike. From the beginning, Whirlpool Corporation has been committed to upholding our values of mutual Respect, Integrity, Diversity and Inclusion, Teamwork and the Spirit of Winning.
We fulfill our obligation to earn and maintain the trust of stakeholders, employees and the community by adhering to and setting the highest values and standards possible. These standards also steer our leadership teams to recruit and mentor our global and diverse workforce by modeling high standards of behavior.
Our leadership and diversity are recognized by others. We consistently place among Aon Hewitt’s “Top Companies for Leaders” and we have attained a perfect score from the Human Rights Campaign’s U.S. Corporate Equality Index for 13 consecutive years.
We’ve become industry leaders by engaging, recruiting and retaining talented people who believe improving lives and making a difference matters. As consumers continue to purchase our products, we’ll continue to support the employees behind them.
Our vision and work environment are conducive to success, but the minds and hands of those who make up our organization bring our dynamic products to life. We have assembled a global team of talented people who reflect our diverse consumer base. People have always been our greatest asset and our ultimate differentiator. As we unleash individual and collective talents within our winning culture, every employee feels empowered to do their best work. You might even say that our greatest product is our people.
We believe that all people matter, regardless of their nationality or language. Our values, work environment and company culture all seek to reward uniqueness. Great ideas and innovation come from combining the best of everyone’s differences. Celebrating diversity and including thousands of perspectives empower us to create products that blend in to every concept of home. We acknowledge our differences and celebrate the value these differences can make on our lives, our business and our community.
We never let our passion for helping create today’s special moments distract us from empowering even more purposeful innovations. We understand that innovation takes its first step backward when it stops moving forward. That’s why we’ll never stop pursuing new products that resonate with the people who use them. We work tirelessly to create exceptional design and purposeful technology that blends into the home rather than stands out in a house.
For more than a century, we’ve been innovating and implementing designs that free up more time for what’s important. From the first washing machine to the first stand mixer to the first laundry pair with steam cycles, innovation is second nature to us and essential to our passion. We’re extremely proud of our history of innovation, but we believe our greatest accomplishments are yet to come.
I have been working at Whirlpool Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)
Rotate quickly (typically no more than 2 yrs in a role), strong finance team engagement, new resources for employees (paternity leave, health rebate, onsite daycare coming), not hierarchical
Can be overly relationship based vs process based, multiple reorg's in the past 5-10 years, finance is stretched from a resource standpoint
Advice to Management
Continue to be transparent and up front with the state of the business, continue to take risks and look outside of the core, continue to find additional ways to improve employees lives and work environment
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Whirlpool Corporation.
Initial phone interview followed by multiple in person interviews. Mostly situational type questions. The interviewers were polite and did a good job of not leading me to the right answer.
