We’d like to introduce you to Zach Hahn! Here’s what the Lead Implementation Specialist in Vancouver has to say about life at WO:

“As the Lead Implementation Specialist for WO Streaming in Vancouver, I ensure that new streaming customers are successfully onboarded and trained in platform best practices. I’m approaching my 5th year at WideOrbit and love my team—everyone on WO Streaming is so friendly and helpful. I’ve learned a lot here and can absolutely attribute that to my coworkers and the company’s eagerness to facilitate learning new skills. I’m constantly expanding my knowledge. When I’m not working, I’m enjoying the outdoors with my wife (and occasionally the indoors with my video games). This past year I picked up a fly fishing rod and am hoping to catch salmon and steelhead soon!” #WeAreWideOrbit

I have been working at WideOrbit full-time (More than a year)

As a developer, my base pay and benefits matter, but what makes a job great for me is the learning opportunities available. WO has many, many products that leverage multiple technologies and languages. There's always new things to learn and ways to grow as a developer. WO also provides (at least currently) paid subscriptions to for every employee.

The office I work at has around 20-25 people which is great for me as it has a small company / startup feeling, while benefitting from being part of a much larger, established company.

The people here are amazing. Friendly, open, honest, intelligent and helpful. However, that seems to be the overall trend within the company at large from what I've experienced.

The benefits have been great. HR actually listened to our suggestions and came through to provide a very great plan, while also reducing our out of pocket expenses. Dental, vision, life, health, plenty of vacation leave, paid personal time, lots of sick leave, etc.

There's always plenty of snacks, soda, sparkling water, and a super fancy coffee machine. Video games, nerf guns and other toys. Company parties are always a lot of fun here, especially thanks to our awesome home brewers who happily share!

Development here has been pretty good. Management is always open to discussing process changes, new technologies, etc. I don't feel like I'm just a mindless drone carrying out programming tasks, as I've felt at other places.

Technology changes happen a bit slower than I'd like sometimes. Artwork is kinda lame.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at WideOrbit (San Francisco, CA) in August 2015.

Timely and professional but lacked organization of position and growth opportunities. employee I interviewed with was fairly new and did not understand the exact position hiring. Felt like the company was just looking for bodies.
