I worked at Willamete Education Service District full-time (More than 3 years)
The school districts are mostly small in size and welcoming. Great freedom from supervisors to work autonomously, if you know what you are doing.
Minimal supervisory support when necessary (such as initially), and quick to "throw you under the bus" should any issue arise with assigned school districts or simply rip employees from current assignments and redistribute at will.
Advice to Management
Support and protect your employees who are isolated from the main office in more rural districts, vs. leaving them to fend for themselves. Value the relationships established between ESD employees and assigned schools and students and exercise caution and care when reassignments must be made.
