I have been working at Wiltshire Council full-time (More than 3 years)
I started at the Council in a very junior role but have progressed quickly. The council supported me to complete my qualifications to gain promotion. I work hard and there is some pressure but their approach to flexible working means that I can balance my work with my home life - it’s a two way street. I also love that we are reminded about why we do what we do and it’s about the communities of Wiltshire.
There is a lot of work to do and there is pressure as a result because the budgets are reducing but you are kept informed with regular communications about what is happening. Car parking will become an issue soon so this is a concern for some.
Advice to Management
A decision about car parking soon please so we can plan.
I applied online. I interviewed at Wiltshire Council.
20 minutes of questions with 2 interviewers mostly based around the behavioural framework and customer service. Highly focused on 'community' aspect of the job. Interview followed by an ICT test, testing research, accuracy and presentation skills.
