For small businesses in communities where we are a competitive telecommunications provider, we offer integrated voice and data services, advanced data and traditional voice and long-distance service. We also provide online backup, remote IT, managed web design, web hosting and various email services.

Consumer and Small Business

We are the incumbent local telephone company in communities across 18 states. In these areas, we offer high-speed internet, traditional voice, and video services to residential customers. For small business customers, we provide a wide range of advanced internet, voice, and web conferencing services to enhance business productivity. We also offer online backup, remote IT, managed web design, web hosting and various email services.

We leverage our nationwide network to deliver 100 Gbps bandwidth and transport services to other telecommunications providers and network operators. These offerings include special access services, which include access and transport services to end-users, and Ethernet and Wave transport up to 100 Gbps. We also provide fiber-to-the-tower connections to support the growing wireless backhaul market. And we offer wholesale voice and data carrier services to largescale purchasers of network capacity.

For large businesses that have complex communications requirements, we deliver a customized solution design process, personalized customer service and proactive managed service support. In addition to traditional voice services, we offer multi-site networking, integrated VoIP and data services, Unified Communications as a Service, data center connectivity, network security, managed network services and other cloud services.

    I have been working at Windstream full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great company to work for. Loved my co-workers and manager in Ephrata, PA. Good culture and probably the best job I ever had. Would have stayed if didn't have to care for ailing parents.

    Cons

    Highly competitive market and product...difficult to sell dedicated bandwidth and justify the cost against cable modem (not comparing apples to apples).

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    I applied online. I interviewed at Windstream.

    Interview

    I applied online and was called within a week to set up HR interview. Was told by the rep that interviewed me, that the hiring manager would be in contact with me if they decided to move forward. Waited about a week and called the HR rep back to follow up. Was told that my info was passed on to the hiring manager and that they weren't sure why they hadn't contacted me yet. I was given the hiring managers name though, so I reached out and got in contact with the person directly. After looking over my info, the manager told me that they definitely wanted to interview me and even set a date and time. The day before the interview though, I received an automated, your no long considered, email from Windstreams recruiting system. So I reached back out directly to the manager and was told we were still on for the following day and they weren't sure why I received that message. Next day came and the manager never showed to the interview. No call, no email, nothing. Even though at that point I should've have said forget it, things come up so I reached back out and have been ignored since. Very poor experience. If this is how they run their recruiting process I would hate to see how the rest of the company is ran.
