I have been working at Wine Enthusiast (More than 3 years)
New beautiful office space with many amenities including a gym, lunch room and big bright windows.
Free yoga classes every Thursday, free wine every Friday and frequent company happy hours.
Creativity is rewarded and making your career goals known typically results in positive change.
People stay at the company a looong time, longer than anywhere else I've worked.
The work life balance seems to be intact for most roles dependent on where you end up and what time of year it is, i.e. holiday season is nuts.
It's more accessible to the city than the last office but still a bit of a trek.
The businesses feel pretty siloed. It would be great to collaborate more across companies.
Advice to Management
Keep up with the new benefits that help us communicate between departments
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Wine Enthusiast (Valhalla, NY).
You get a phone call without salary being discussed. You go to the interview(s) and spend 3 hrs. there meeting with 4 people individually. They are very nice with new offices. Benefits seem good. Not until the end do you find out the salary which is low. Why do their waste their time and ours? This should be discussed up front.
