I have been working at Winrock International full-time (More than a year)
Really great work/life balance with flexible telecommuting options etc. Despite regular implementation bumps, the company is known for high standards and quality implementation which enables it to help millions of farmers and vulnerable communities rise out of poverty. While some operations/support teams have struggled (and continue to struggle) to find the right leadership, the program teams are really strong and united towards common objectives.
The operations side of the company (especially recruitment and new business) has had a lot of turbulence with voluntary and involuntary departures. I'm hopeful that they'll find the right people to lead soon so that things can settle down.
Advice to Management
Focus on shoring up operations.
I applied online. I interviewed at Winrock International (Arlington, VA) in May 2017.
Hiring process was simple and easy - I think they were desperate for help, so everything was pretty fast. The first round phone interview was very short (15 minutes maybe) and the in-person interview was standard, except for a couple questions that were more challenging. The hiring managers were polite and friendly, and didn't make me feel intimidated.
