I worked at Winrock International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Deeply committed senior staff with deep experience. Clear understanding of how to win large USG contracts. Able to build new work in countries where they have a continuing presence

    Cons

Continual change, uncertainty, unexpected management decisions. Still working thru how to modernize a quite traditional organization based in Arkansas, with evolving market requirements in DV and globally

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Winrock International (Arlington, VA).

    Interview

After an initial online application I received an email request for a Skype interview. The Skype interview seemed to go well and after another 2 weeks or so I received a request for a writing sample. The order seemed a bit odd since usually writing samples are last or close to last in the process, but I, of course, complied. Then I heard nothing for another 2 weeks until the day before a group interview I got a call to see if I could join an in person, all day interview to fill in for a candidate who dropped out. Not the most professional offer, and took me back that there was no alternative. As I have a current job I could not make this interview work and thus I was removed from consideration. Very frustrating, but a very eye opening experience.
