Winter Park Resort – Why Work For Us?

With a 75-year history, Winter Park Resort is Colorado's longest continually operated ski resort. Over the years we've been known to be "Extremely Colorado," "Authentic Colorado," and "Colorado's Favorite." Regardless of what you know us as, rest assured we're More Than You Imagine!

More Than You Imagine

Grand County has a population of about 13,400 who live primarily in eight small towns in Colorado’s largest county. This creates a true small-town mountain experience, with local businesses including restaurants, a laid-back bar scene, retail shops, grocery stores, and a magnificent outdoor playground. Winter Park Resort receives an average of 350 inches of fresh snow each season and has consistent snow year after year. Winter Park Resort’s 26 lifts give access to the 3,081 skiable acres of dynamic terrain across seven different territories, 143 designated trails and another 1,212 acres of off-piste terrain such as glade tree skiing. The 3,060 foot vertical drop makes every run adrenaline packed!  There are also shorter lifts and conveyor lifts at the base for beginners and those wishing for a mellower experience.

Winter Park Resort isn’t just for skiing!

When you’ve had enough of the cold and are ready to enjoy the warmth of summer, Winter Park knows how to do just that. With more than a hundred miles of hiking and biking trails, both at the resort and nearby, you can unleash your summer warrior in the great outdoors! Summer at the resort brings all sorts of attractions including Colorado's longest Alpine Slide, an outdoor climbing wall, putting course, and a selection of high speed chairlifts which carry mountain bikers, hikers, and view-seekers atop Winter Park Mountain. Check out in March for the start of our summer recruiting season.

I have been working at Winter Park Resort full-time (More than 10 years)

What's not to love about working at a ski resort. Ski and Ride breaks all year long, fun adventurous co-workers, living in a resort town, escaping the entrapments of urban life, etc.

The nature of the resort business is that it is seasonal and only the best performers are able to link gainful summer and winter seasons together. Discipline, tenacity, hard work, and loyalty are rewarded as evidenced by much of management having started on the front lines. But patience is definitely required to climb the ranks. If you are looking to coast through work and life don't be fooled that a resort is the solution.

    Advice to Management

Continue the long standing tradition of promotion from within when possible.

I applied online. I interviewed at Winter Park Resort.

Winter Park has a new screening process. Each applicant is first interviewed by a recruiter to see which job position will be the best fit. The recruiters also answer any questions you may have about the resort or jobs. After you complete the assessment with the recruiter you are then sent to the managers in different departments. The recruiter interview seems to really add a more personal touch compared to other interviews. Both interviews were phone interviews which is very normal since so many applicants are coming from far away.
