I have been working at Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Enriching work environment where young professionals can gain valuable experience that they can use as they move on to other jobs.

    Cons

A lot of the people who have been here for an extended period of time become disenchanted with state service

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (Madison, WI) in December 2011.

    Interview

First interview consisted of two division administrators asking 5 questions. Each panel member took notes on my responses. The interview was approximately 30 minutes. The 2nd interview was with two different groups. One group consisted of bureau directors and the other was with program managers. Each group asked questions about my employment history and what skills I would bring to the table from those experiences.
