I worked at Wood Group Mustang full-time (More than a year)
Flexible work hours, great location, solid management. Good focus on professional development, with plenty of resources for obtaining PE license.
Booms and Busts with the O&G cycle. It's hard to be stable and layoffs following by hiring booms, followed by more layoffs are not uncommon. They do what they can, but it's inevitable.
Advice to Management
When the busts happen, the monthly/weekly new round of layoffs was death for morale and productivity. Just pull off the bandaid and try to make do with a smaller crew.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Wood Group Mustang (Indianapolis, IN).
It was back in the good old days with Global Performance/Mustang Engineering, before being acquired by Wood Group. I walked in and introduced my self and the reason I was there, handed my resume to the manager in charge and I didn't give them a chance to say anything. I gave them a good and professional presentation and they hired me on the spot.
