I worked at Working Families full-time

    Pros

Canvassing with the Working Families party is exciting work. Training is adequate and takes up the first half of the day in the office, then the second half involved going out in the field and going door to door. I enjoyed getting to move around and talk to people all day more than sitting in an office.

    Cons

Sometimes we went to sketchy neighborhoods, the staff didn't seem to know anything about D.C. neighborhoods (they were from New York).

    Advice to Management

Allow canvassers familiar with the area to give advice to supervisors on where to canvass.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Working Families (Brooklyn, NY) in September 2016.

    Interview

Three people in a conference room, before splitting off into separate rooms and asking more direct questions. I answered some questions about the company, i was asked into a separate room, and then ostensibly offered the job. It was pretty quick, and altogether pretty effortless. I started the next day.
