    Pros

    My experience so far has been really great here at WorldFirst.

    Product: great reviews - their customers love the products & services.
    Culture: great as well. Active efforts to engage employees through social activities, community service, and dialogue about important issues.
    Pay: my experience has been positive, although I'm not sure about other positions.
    Benefits: generous vacation time. Insurance plans are good, and lots of other little perks.
    People: super kind and genuine. Really impressed on this front, actually. They seem to be just as concerned with the character of their employees as with their competency for the job.

    Cons

    There are some huge process-improvement opportunities. The company seems to be risk-averse and slow to change. To be fair, a part of this may be related to the highly regulated financial sector, but it appears to be an issue with internal communication, and layers and layers that you have to go through to see things improve. Some areas seem to be regionalized that could benefit from clearer central direction/leadership.

    Advice to Management

    Take suggestions from employees seriously and act on them.

    Application

    I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at WorldFirst (Austin, TX) in October 2015.

    Interview

    I was so impressed by the interview process at World First. My first interaction was with an HR recruiter in a phone interview. He made the effort to get to know me as a person as well as a professional. My next interview was with the Head of Marketing (again, a phone interview), who immediately put me at ease even though I started off the interview very nervous talking a mile a minute. By the end, we were talking about the city and our leisure activities.

    My third interview was an in-person meeting with the Head of Marketing, the CRO, and the Head of Partnerships. Instead of an intimidating panel interview, each met with me individually and so I really had the opportunity to connect with each in a more personalized way and get to know them. The conversation was a true discussion; I never once felt like I was under cross-fire. They made a big effort to put me at ease and get to know me as a person to assess personality fit.

    I've given more than a dozen interviews in my career. My interview with World First was one of the few times I felt that the company wanted to get to know me as a person and showed me that they invested in talent and people.
