GROWTH - WE INVEST IN YOU
Wunderman is an exciting place to work, with opportunities for talented people to learn and grow with us in offices around the world. No matter who you are, we believe that everyone needs a work/life balance to truly thrive. We don’t just talk about this, we take action and great pride in providing a balanced and healthy environment—which we believe is good for all of us.We believe in learning, connecting with your colleagues and career development. Here are some examples of how we turn these beliefs into programs for YOU!
A refreshing new approach to employee reviews, YOU Time is your time to discuss career and life goals with your manager. It's also a time to recognize important accomplishments. YOU Time is our innovative global program that encourages growth at work and in your personal life.
Your success matters. Rather than conducting traditional reviews in airless meeting rooms, managers at Wunderman take their employees out of the office for real one-on-one time.
Every year, all around the world, everyone takes a day to participate in community service activities.
No matter the cause, we believe in giving back to our community and our people.
Travel is an inspiration, sparking great ideas, new thinking and deeper personal connections.
That’s why we give everyone a chance to win a week-long trip to visit offices in other cities or countries.
A dynamic learning environment, Wunderman University gives everyone access to a wide range of courses, tutorials, training, and educational resources.
Use Wunderman University to build your knowledge and expertise, in order to fulfill personal and professional goals.
YOU Time is an ongoing effort across Wunderman’s network to support professional development and personal interests. We recognize that to succeed as a business and a culture, we need to support both the personal and professional sides of our people.
We introduced Because Conversations Matter as part of YOU Time. And we asked managers and employees to go off-site and have an open dialogue about goals and what’s needed to be successful. Building a culture where we are inspired to be our best selves at work every day is only the beginning.
YOUR TIME TO SHINE
We want you to feel that when you come to work, you come to make a difference. Not just to us, to the agency, the date to day doings, to our clients. To you as well. The stuff you enjoy and want to do more of. The things that make you tick, The ideas that get you out of bed in the morning. The things that drive you. We want you to be able to fulfil all of your ambitions and play to your strengths, personal and professional.
We may have 7,000 heartbeats, but on December 1, we’ll all come together to celebrate as one. The Wunderman network spans 175 offices in 60 countries, with offices everywhere from Stockholm to Santiago, from Seattle to Sydney. At such a large global agency, it can be difficult to feel a real sense of community, but #WundermanDay is one way we make sure we don’t have that problem. http://bit.ly/2fEGV2d
I worked at Wunderman part-time (Less than a year)
Good humans. Healthy sense of teamwork and a noticeable camaraderie. Good work/life balance for a NYC ad shop. Active culture.
No big gripes. Some shifting personnel. A few vacancies made some projects a bit tougher than they needed to be.
Advice to Management
None really. They seemed focused on the right things.
I applied online. I interviewed at Wunderman (Washington, DC).
My phone interview with HR went relatively well. But my in-person interview was no so good for multiple reasons. They sent me a schedule of who I was meeting with and there was no one to "shepherd" the process. So I spent much longer in one of the earlier interviews, causing another person to miss our time slot and me having to wait almost 20 minutes for this person to show up. The entire interview lasted almost an hour and a half longer than I was told. The same HR person I spoke with on the phone had apparently forgotten everything I told her and she acted like we had never spoken before. She asked me a very odd question about how I was supposed to know if I'd get along with people at the company. I wasn't sure how to answer this since no one really knows at any job interview except by meeting people? She also argued with me on a technical question even though I was certain I was right so did not know how to convince her that what I had accomplished at my last job was actually the right decision. I felt that another one of the interviewers was combative in her questioning, cut me off mid-sentence for almost every response, and had the attitude that I had nothing to offer the company without giving me a chance to explain. She automatically assumed that since I did not come from her same background that I could not learn their programs or processes.
