Wyoming Medical Center – Why Work With Us?

Acute care hospital on two campuses in Casper, Wyoming

You don’t need to leave the state to get the highest quality medical care. Wyoming Medical Center is Casper’s only nonprofit, full-service acute care hospital, located both in the heart of the city and the heart of Wyoming. In 2018, we acquired another hospital on Casper's east side and formed our new East Campus. Our McMurry West Tower, completed in the fall of 2014, was designed around the unique needs our community, adding 100,000 square feet of state-of-the-art medical space to better serve you.

We have:

  • 235 beds on two campuses
  • 1,300 employees
  • 233 providers in more than 75 specialties
  • 93 percent of physicians board certified
  • Regional Trauma Center
  • 13 specialty, primary and immediate care clinics
  • 113 volunteers

Being nonprofit means we invest all money back into serving the health of our community. We treat everyone who walks through our doors, from birth to old age, despite ability to pay, and we proudly serve patients on Medicare and Medicaid. We provide more than $50 million in charity and uncompensated care each year. More than simply caring for you when you are sick, we are working to build a healthier place to live.

In 2009, Wyoming Medical Center created our culture of safety, implementing hospital-wide initiatives to eliminate medical errors and improve patient care. We have consistently scored the highest among Wyoming hospitals on The Leapfrog Group’s Hospital Safety Score and earned many other awards for safety and quality.

There’s a reason our logo resembles a shield. We’re called to protect the health of the people who call Casper, Natrona County and Wyoming home — represented by the shield's three sides. Our brown and gold colors honor Wyoming’s rugged landscape. We’ve been our community’s guardians of health for more than 100 years, and we hope to continue to be the guardians for a 100 more. Everything we do is built around you.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Wyoming Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

WMC is a fantastic employer and a wonderful company to work for. I cannot compare my experience as it has been overwhelmingly positive. Leadership is incredibly transparent, our HR department is highly functional and effective, and our culture is warm, exciting, and vibrant.
Never have I worked in a place that treats their employees like valued family. I've heard our CEO mention this over and over again: "The board cares about each and every employee & we are a family". I truly believe this. I am so blessed to have to been offered an opportunity with such an amazing company.
Benefits are great and I consider them to be very reasonable.

I spend half my paycheck on starbucks which is on site... kidding ... but not really :-D

    Advice to Management

You are wonderful - I can't thank you enough for the opportunity. It is such a pleasure to be in a place that I can call "home". I feel like I am a part of something bigger; you're incredibly inclusive, transparent, and warm to all employees which makes this an exceptional experience.

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Wyoming Medical Center (Casper, WY) in December 2016.

Applied online got a call one week later. Interviewed by the supervisor and two shipping clerks. The interview was fun and relaxed. The only thing that I would change is that they didn't call or send and email as to whether I got another interview.
