    I worked at X by 2 full-time (Less than a year)


    I must say, after leaving X by 2 for slightly more income, I can really see and believe the saying “you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.” There were a lot of things I took for granted at X by 2 that I wish I had not. Simple things like the president Dave Packer caring to get to know me as a person and making a genuine effort to. At my new company the company owner is five doors down from my office and has never even bothered to introduce himself to me.
    I don’t think he’s exchanged a single word with me in the nearly two months I’ve been there but has walked passed me with a rushed hello maybe once. It was also nice having a manager who wanted to help me and listened to my concerns.

    At my new job, every concern is put on the back burner and there is zero time given to complete work in a prestigious manner. At X by 2, my time was respected and provided. Things were organized, clear direction was given, and the president and managers knew what they were trying to achieve. At the new job, the managers don’t know what they want, communication is horrendous, and everything is highly disorganized and out of place. I didn’t even have a computer monitor, desk, or written utensils on my first day! During meetings, when it is my turn to speak, the manager cuts it short and walks out to jump on a call. Clearly what I have to say isn’t important here. At X by 2, everyone listened intently and gave feedback. I felt respected and valued and not like some pion meant to take orders and shut up like I feel here at the new job.

    Meetings started on time and weren’t cancelled or rudely walked out on. At X by 2, I had health insurance right away; here, I was told one month but that was a lie; it was nearly two. So what am I trying to say? For those of you considering a career at X by 2, it really is an awesome place to work and does more for its employees than I have ever seen before. For those or you considering leaving, I hope my review makes you think a little deeper. I wish I had realized that before making my decision because trust me, the grass is not always greener. I’m not saying X by 2 is perfect, no job will ever be perfect, but it’s about as perfect as it gets. I learned the hard way. Thanks for reading!


    The option to work remotely a day or two a week would be nice

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you’re doing. Employees see and appreciate how much you care for them and value their opinion. This is what I miss shout X by 2 the most.

    There is on online technical assessment, followed by a phone interview, then two onsite interviews: the first covers general SE questions like data structures and algorithms and past projects, the second covers database design and SQL queries.
