Mission: We provide our customers the safe, clean, reliable energy services they want and value at a competitive price.
I have been working at Xcel Energy full-time (More than 10 years)
Flexible schedule, great pay and long term stability (diverse energy portfolio). Good people dedicated to the job and the company will try and do right by its employees most of the time.
Its a large corporation with a lot of bureaucracy and politics that any company has. Sometimes during certain times of year you may have to work long, grueling hours for outages and emergent issues.
Advice to Management
Get better at communication to employees, create a detailed, structured vision with clear goals and communicate that constantly and clearly.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Xcel Energy (Denver, CO) in January 2014.
1. Phone Interview - Manager called me and we discussed the job opportunity. She notified me that this was a temp contract and was I ok with it. She also went over my skills.
2. Face to Face Interview - I met with the Manager and Sr. Recruiter.
3. Offer - I got the offer the day after my F to F interview. Early in the morning.
It was easy!!! I asked for $35.00 min. / They offered $36.75 (I accepted)
