Health and Wellness Plans

Xero offers employees and their families, comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance plans beginning the first day of the month following date of hire, along with wellness initiatives to keep you at your best.


Xero provides subsidies on all medical plans for employees and their eligible dependents. We offer different medical plans that can work for you, your family and lifestyle. Xero’s medical options include Cigna PPO, Cigna High Deductible HSA and, in California and Colorado, Kaiser HMO.

Dental & Vision

Dental PPO insurance is offered through Cigna. Xero’s vision benefits are offered through VSP.

Flexible Spending Accounts

FSAs can help you save money on things like co-payments and daycare. Xero offers health and dependent care flexible spending accounts that allow you to set aside a certain amount of pre-tax earnings, so you can cover eligible expenses and reduce your taxable income.

Wellness Reimbursement

At Xero, we like being busy, but we also recognize that it's important to take care of our health and wellbeing. Employees are offered an annual $300 reimbursement toward wellness your way. Whether it’s your gym membership, ski pass, marathon admission or nutrition counseling - we’ve got you covered.

401(k) Plan

We understand the importance of financial security. Whatever your ultimate retirement goals may be, Xero’s 401(k) plan can help you reach them. Xero provides an immediately vested match of up to 4% of included compensation.

Xero Company Equity Stock Program

All full-time employees receive equity grants in Xero as a component of their overall remuneration package. Restricted stock units are granted annually on a three year vesting schedule.

Income Protection

Income protection helps you plan for the unplanned. Benefits are designed to provide for you and your family when you are unable to work. We offer the following at no cost to you - life insurance of up to two times salary, accidental death and dismemberment, short and long term disability.

Commuter, Parking & Bike Benefit

Our transit benefit allows employees who commute to and from work to receive pre-tax funds to pay for their work-related mass transit and parking expenses.  Our bicycle benefit allows employees to receive a subsidy of up to $20 per month which can be used toward expenses related to your bicycle maintenance.

Paid Time Off

Whether for vacations or personal reasons, Xero offers the flexibility to use your time as it fits your life.  Full-time employees get 11 paid holidays, 21 days of vacation, as well as 5 wellness days per year. We also allow additional paid time off for volunteering (8 hours per year) and for bereavement and compassionate reasons.

Parental Leave

Xero provides enhanced pay of up to eight weeks of base pay continuation plus a bonus on return to work of two weeks’ pay for primary care givers.  Xero also provides two weeks’ of paid leave for secondary care givers.

Employee Assistance Program

Xero offers a 24/7 Employee Assistance Program that can help with confidential support including stress, various counseling, parental and child care resources, legal consultation, financial planning and more.  This benefit is available to you and members of your family at no cost.

    Everyone is very friendly and helpful. There are a phone screening interview and then 2 technical interviews which not only assess candidate's technical experience but also personality and work behaviors. The interviewers really care if the candidate fit and work well with the current team and culture as well as whether they are passionate and willing to learn and improve.
