I worked at YETI Coolers full-time (More than a year)
Family-like atmosphere. High-quality employees. Everyone gives a damn, everyone pulls their weight, and they don't have to be poked and prodded in order to do so. Though productivity is through the roof, they also manage to pull off a rather laid-back overall vibe (relaxed attire, lively debates on things like the best breakfast tacos in the city or what does and does not constitute a sandwich, beer/wine on Friday afternoons).
Difficult to focus for introverts/people with social anxiety. Lots of people in a small area, in the office all day, every day. Little to no opportunity to find a quiet space to focus, recharge, knock out some work without distractions, etc. However, this is not a 'con' that applies to the majority of people, and I believe it will be addressed later in 2017 with the move to their newly-constructed headquarters.
Advice to Management
Most of my advice would be to keep doing what you're doing. Company is very successful, and it seemed to me like they care about continuing to improve upon the existing benefits year over year. Continue your current hiring methods; slackers were difficult to identify/non-existent from what I could tell. Overall it is a great company and a wonderful place to work.
I applied online. I interviewed at YETI Coolers in April 2017.
Skype with offsite recruiter - emailed to set up a time on Sunday and the interview took place on Tuesday evening - lasted thirty minutes -was allowed to ask questions and discuss salary requirements
We are excited to announce that YETI is now the Official Outdoor Partner of NASCAR. A great way for any fan to enjoy their drinks icy-cold at the track and rep their favorite driver. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQtXE
