I worked at Youngstown State University full-time (More than 10 years)
Great benefits, lots of good people. Low stress environment. Free tuition. Rec center. Nice campus.
Union drama. Some people complain about what they have and have no idea what others have to pay or deal with outside in the private sector. Frustrating to see ineffective people skate by making lots of money when they don't and can't contribute
Advice to Management
Hire management who has actually worked in the field they're in charge of running.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Youngstown State University (Youngstown, OH) in August 2017.
The interview process was overall pretty good and went by smoothly. I was asked standard interview questions and nothing too crazy. I had to fill out a lot of paperwork prior to the interview in order to qualify for the assistantship, the interview was the last part.
