I applied online. I interviewed at ZipRecruiter (San Francisco, CA) in Dec 2022
Interview
30 min recruiter call, then technical phone screen. Interviewer was not very interactive during the interview. I explained my thought process and presented a potential solution, asking if that was in the right direction. The interviewer agreed, so I proceeded to start coding a solution. The interviewer was silent during the time I was coding up my solution, presumably doing something else since I never got feedback while I was coding. Around 15~20 minutes into coding, the interviewer pointed out that what I was coding wouldn't work. I didn't really know how to respond to that, since I got the OK to proceed with what I presented earlier. By this time it was 10 minutes to the end of the interview, and there was not enough time to even think of an alternate solution. The question itself was a Leetcode Hard, probably on the easier side, but I forgot how to code up the specific algorithm I had in mind and tried to solve it given the specific problem and example I had infront of me. The interview was on CodeSignal, and the problem statement left out a bunch of definitions, making it extremely difficult to decipher what the problem was asking for. Interviewer didn't really do a good job of explaining any clarifying questions I had either.leetcode hard using topological sort
