Mission: Our mission is to give power to the patient. We believe there’s no better way to help you have the great healthcare experience you expect and deserve.
I worked at Zocdoc full-time (More than 3 years)
Lots of talented people all focused on helping people get more out of their healthcare. Fun environment for developers - I learned a lot and made some great friends. Benefits are amazing and lunch was always free and tasty!
The office is cramped, the company is largely out of space! Lots of legacy code to wrestle with, but probably not more than most.
Advice to Management
Keep going. Made some very smart changes at leadership positions over the last few years!
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Zocdoc (New York, NY).
First interview was an algorithm question and can be found on this site.
The next interviewer asked a OO design question which can be found on this site. HR's feedback was that I used a single letter variable name and my design choice was not good even though I did not end up going with that choice as my final design.
The next interviewer asked a system design question. From the feedback, the interviewer said my design was inadequate. When I pressed further on this, she said although my final design for a table was correct, but the initial design wasn't, and I was "coaxed" to correct the design. I don't recall being coaxed and don't know how you can coax someone in an interview.
Looks wise, the office is the worst I've seen. The office looks like an old high school. From the feedback I got, the work environment sounds as toxic and juvenile as the office. Just look at the reviews.
Giving power to the patient, and ice cream to our teams are just two perks of being a Zocdoc’r. Check out the ways we keep #LifeatZocdoc fun! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vIJ9S
We're pumped to be named one of the Healthiest Companies to Work For in America this year. Thanks Greatist!
