KAYLA HEARD: Mobile QA Analyst - Seattle, WA

What do you do at Zonar? I’m responsible for testing and filing bug tickets on un-released app builds for the 2020 and Connect tablets. I also validate bug fixes and completed features, plan out test cases for new features and apps, and code automated test cases. I sometimes contribute to planning by offering knowledge of product functionality and ideas of how it could be branched out and tested for new features.

Why did you choose to come to Zonar? The technology seemed innovative and interesting. When I did my first interview, the interviewers (who were also managers) also seemed to care a lot about their employees as well and pay attention to their individual skills and strengths. It seemed like a good place for growth and learning.

What’s the best part of working for Zonar? The people I work with – I love these guys. My QA team does a great job of supporting each other and we also have a really good relationship with our developers. If we need assistance with anything we can just go up to each other’s desks and brainstorm, or help each other learn.

What would you recommend to someone who was about to interview at Zonar? Think of good questions to ask your interviewers. Think about how you want to portray your work ethic, ability to learn, and ability to benefit both your team and our customers. Brush up on logic puzzles as well.

What’s your passion outside of work? Working out, cooking, reading and playing tactical games or RPGs. I also play classical piano as well.

What do you do at Zonar? I serve as a business partner and trusted advisor to managers and employees. I develop and elevate programs within our company to make Zonar a top tier employer of choice. I manage Zonar’s HR systems, processes, and procedures to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for employees.

Why did you choose to come to Zonar? I wanted to work for a tech company that is the best at what they do, cares immensely about their employees, and has a lot of fun. That’s Zonar.

What’s the best part of working for Zonar? The people! I love the talented, collaborative, and fun group of people I get to work with every day!

What would you recommend to someone who was about to interview at Zonar? Be genuine. Be yourself. Ask questions.

What’s your passion outside of work? I love to explore the beautiful roads of the Pacific Northwest on my motorcycle, strum a few chords on my guitar, and nerd out on some video games.

    Pros

    It has been an awesome and exciting journey to watch Zonar become what it is today. The culture is phenomenal and great work-life balance! Growth potential is fantastic, people are amazing and I feel valued! Love my team and the high morale that is always present, starting with leadership and all the talented teams. Communication has improved, with continues updates and consistent quarterly all hands meetings. Those that have the drive and get out of their comfort zone excel very fast!

    Keeping up with continues changes and growth can be challenging to some.

    Seems to be a pattern with the recruiting team. They do not follow up. The unprofessionalism seems to be inherent with this organization. If the HR Team is willing to do this to potential HR Team members...let's just say STAY AWAY...guess what they will do to non-HR people.
